Privacy and personal data

This page describes only the processing currently present on lastseen.at. The site has no public account, payment, advertising, profiling or individual tracking system.

Contact messages

• Data: optional name or nickname, email address and message
• Purpose: receive the message and reply to it
• Legal basis: handling your request when it concerns the service; otherwise, legitimate interest in answering messages received
• Recipients: the project publisher and technical providers needed for hosting and storage
• Retention: the current configuration keeps at most the latest 100 messages in Redis, with no automatic expiry configured. Messages are deleted on request or when they leave this limit

News subscription

• Data: email address only
• Purpose: send information and news about lastseen.tools
• Legal basis: consent given by the explicit subscription action in the form
• Recipients: the project publisher and technical providers needed for hosting and storage
• Retention: the address stays subscribed until unsubscribe or deletion is requested. No automatic expiry is currently configured

Unsubscribe from the dedicated page. Any future emails must also include an easy unsubscribe link.

Audience measurement

Vercel Web Analytics is used with its standard configuration and no custom events to measure site audience. Vercel states that statistics are aggregated, no third-party cookies are used, and the temporary identifier used to distinguish a visitor is discarded after 24 hours. Measurement may include visited pages, an available referrer, country, device and browser. Email addresses, messages and other form fields are not sent to Vercel Analytics.

This limited measurement relies on the legitimate interest in understanding traffic and improving the site. You can disable it with this opt-out link; the choice is stored locally in the browser. The project uses Vercel’s Hobby plan, whose Web Analytics reporting window is one month. Vercel states that data may be stored for longer, without guaranteeing availability beyond that window.

Hosting and storage

The site is hosted by Vercel. Form data is stored in the free Redis Cloud plan, provided by Redis Ltd., on Amazon Web Services in the eu-west-3 region (Paris, France). Redis documentation states that this plan does not support data persistence on disk and does not allow database backups or exports from the Redis Cloud console.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your data, object where the conditions apply, and request data portability where that right applies. To exercise these rights, use the Contact page and state the address concerned and your request. You may also complain to the relevant data protection authority.

Cookies and local storage

The site does not add a public cookie banner or public cookie at this stage. The selected theme and the Analytics opt-out choice may be stored in the browser’s local storage.
